About Papa Stour
Papa Stour was conceived in Spring 2005 when designer and stylist Rosie Brown had an idea to create an online shop which was both modern and inspirational and based on the very best products made in Scotland.
After completing a Master of Design at Glasgow School of Art, Rosie worked in London for some years as a textile designer then as a freelance interior stylist where she was a regular contributor to publications such as Elle Decoration, Living Etc and Homes & Gardens. On her return home she began to explore ways to promote and sell work by artists and makers living in Scotland in a modern and accessible way.
The essence of the collection is a contemporary mix including unique home accessories, gift items and art. There are wood turned bowls, baskets, hand-bound books, jewels, cashmere blankets, scarves, feather nests and silver spoons. The artists and makers come from all over Scotland, do completely different things but have one common thread, dedication and talent. In a world of mass produced products, Papa Stour choose to relish in the opposite and embrace art and craftsmanship in its purest form.
